Ke Nako !!

For 40 glorious days last Winter, this was the slogan I woke to every morning: Ke Nako. Meaning…it is time. And it was our time to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

So, this past week, millions of South Africans, fondly remembered us hosting an incredible World Cup Finals tournament, from 11 June – 11 July 2010, when we made memories that will last us a lifetime.

My own journey towards the 19th edition of the FIFA World Cup started 100 days before the event kicked off, with a stadium tour of the magnificent Soccer City.

The newly refurbished venue was to host 8 matches, including the final.

Nicknamed  “the calabash” it stole my heart, and will forever live in world football folklore.

For all of us, it was a once in a life time experience !!
